When is my wedding

The Proposal

We had our first date with some friends at the outdoor skating rink in downtown Providence. Since it was not long after Valentine's Day, a large lit-up heart remained at one end of the rink. So of course, as pictured on the left, we took a photo with it.

Four years later, we decided to return to the exact location of our very first date to celebrate our anniversary. Right before the proposal, someone was nice enough to take a photo of us with the heart since it was there once again.

Before leaving the rink to return home, we decided to get up close to the heart to take some photos along side it at the top of the steps. After Brenton got a few shots of Erin beside it, he pulled out from his jacket pocket a diamond ring, kneeled on one knee and proposed right beneath the heart! Some nearby observers congratulated us.

About Us

We met at Providence College during Erin's freshman year, which was Brenton's sophomore year. Our first encounter was during a Commencent for teachers outside on Slavin lawn at the beginning of September. Members of both the Pep Band and Concert Band played, and surely enough, both of us attended to play (Erin plays flute while Brenton plays trumpet). While not playing, we happened to sit near one another and joked around about how boring and tedious the ceremony was. This was only the beginning for us.

We grew to know each other even more through acquaintances as well as both being members of the Pep Band. Over of the course of the year, we grew to be close friends and enjoyed each others company.

In February of 2005, during Erin's sophomore year and Brenton's junior, we could no longer deny how compatible we were and how well we got along with one another, and therefore decided to take our relationship a step further by becoming a couple. We have been together ever since and now look forward to our future together!

About Brenton

Brenton spent a good portion of his childhood in Newtown, CT and graduated in 2002 at Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA. Brenton graduated from Providence College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Programming. He was a member of the PC Pep Band for four years.

About Erin

Erin spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Falmouth, MA and graduated Falmouth High School in 2003. At Providence College, she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. She was also a member of the Pep Band in addition to other various ensembles. Erin has been figure skating since Fourth Grade and now continues to skate on her free time as well as coach. She is looking forward to her third year of teaching music to K-2 students in Douglas, MA and plans to start her Masters within the next couple of years.

Hotel Accommodations

There are quite a few places to stay during your trip to the Cape. However, here are the few that we recommend if you would like to be nearby locations of the wedding. With June being the start of summer, the Cape becomes super busy during this time and there are only so many hotels in the area. There are also many weddings happening on that weekend. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you book a room as soon as you know your plans. Many hotels begin booking up months in advance, so please book your room as soon as possible!

Admiralty Inn - Falmouth, MA
A standard hotel located in Falmouth with some of the lowest rates. A two night minimum is required. Easy access to the chapel. Currently we have a block of rooms available. Call 800-341-5700 to book a room and give them our two last names to go under our block.

Holiday Inn - Falmouth, MA
Where the bride and groom will be staying. Kansas City Steakhouse is attached to the hotel, and there is pool for guests. Wedding must be mentioned in order to receive wedding discount rate.

InnSeason Resorts - HarborWalk - Falmouth, MA
About a mile away from the ceremony location, InnSeason Resorts - HarborWalk faces Falmouth Harbor. Less than a five minute walk away from The Island Queen, a boat that travels to Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard if you'd like to make a trip over to the island! One of the few places that is one night minimum.

Quality Inn - Bourne, MA

If you'd like to stay nearby the The Brookside Club (reception), then there is the Quality Inn, approximately a mile away from the reception and right off the Bourne Bride rotary. Again, your standard hotel. We have a block of ten rooms available. Call (508) 759-0800 to book under our wedding block (give them our two last names). There is a 10% discount for AAA members. Two night minimum.

The Seaside Inn - Falmouth, MA
Want more of a Cape Cod feel? Another option that is really close to the ceremony location is The Seaside Inn. Right next door is the British Beer Company, a great place to go for dinner or some drinks. Two night minimum. One car per room. There is a 10% discount for AAA members. Walking distance right across the street is a public beach. Visit their website for additional information.

Things To Do

There are tons of things to do while on the Cape during the summer! One of the primary things to do is, of course, go to the beach!
